Yes. A1 Moving is fully licensed and insured. You can move forward with confidence knowing your belongings and your home are covered throughout the entire process.
We're based in Kingsport, TN and serve the entire Tri-Cities region including Johnson City, Bristol (TN and VA), Elizabethton, Greeneville, and Abingdon, VA. We also handle moves throughout Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, just call and ask.
We recommend booking as early as possible — especially for weekend moves or peak moving season (spring and summer). That said, we understand life doesn't always give you a lot of notice. We do our best to accommodate short-notice moves when our schedule allows. Give us a call and we'll let you know what's available.
Yes. We offer moves Monday through Saturday. Sunday moves are available by appointment. We work around your schedule as much as possible.
A standard local move includes loading your belongings, transporting them to your new location, and unloading and placing items where you want them. We bring moving blankets, straps, dollies, and floor protection. Packing services are available as an add-on if needed.
We offer both. If you need help packing, we offer professional packing services where we bring materials and carefully pack your belongings. If you've already packed, we'll load and move everything. See our Packing Services page for more details.
We take home and furniture protection seriously. We use moving blankets to wrap furniture, plastic wrap for extra protection, floor runners to protect hardwood and carpet, and door frame padding to prevent scuffs. You can see examples of our floor and door protection in our photo gallery.
Yes. We regularly move heavy furniture, gym equipment, appliances, and other large items. If you have something particularly unusual or oversized, just let us know when you call so we can plan accordingly and bring the right equipment.
That's exactly what our Moving Labor service is for. You rent the truck, we provide the crew. We'll load your belongings efficiently and safely, or unload them at your destination — whichever you need.

No. We believe in honest, upfront pricing. When we give you a quote, that's what you can expect to pay. We'll discuss any potential variables (like stairs, long carries, or extra services) before the move so there are no surprises at the end of the day.
A few things that help: have boxes packed and labeled before we arrive (or let us know if you need packing help), clear a path from your main rooms to the exit, set aside any items you don't want moved, and make sure we have parking access at both locations. We'll handle the rest.
